The true administrator account is the account with highest level of rights and permissions in Windows PC. In Windows XP this account can be seen while logging in to PC in safe mode, but starting from Vista the administrator account is not active and even in safe mode it is not visible. First we need to enable it in order to be able to see the and work from this account. The following methods will show how to enable and disable the true administrator account.

Method1: Elevated Command mode:

In Windows Vista and Windows 7, even if you are logged in as an user with admin rights, if you open a command window by just typing cmd it will not have access to many command that requires changes in some core system properties. So we need to run this command window with administrator rights. Do this for running command window with admin access (also called elevated command mode):

- Click on Start  and type cmd in the search box.

- From the result window, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

To disable the built-in administrator account, repeat the above steps and type the following command:

net user administrator /active:no and hit Enter.
