An Easy solution for Error 25015- failed to install assembly

While installing Microsoft .Net Framework a commonly occurring error message is error 25015. failed to install assembly. The complete error message reads something like this:

error 25015. failed to install assembly.

c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\microsoft.visualbasic.compatibility.dll’because of system error:0×80131107

This error will prevent you from installing .Net Framework whatever you do. But here is a very easy working solution to combat this error.

If you have downloaded .Net Framework from a 3rd party site, please delete that and download it from the Microsoft Download site.

Save this file on desktop.

Go to the location C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework and delete the folder V2.0.50727.

Start the installation of .Net Framework from the downloaded package saved on desktop.

This time installation will begin without any issue.

If you encounter this kind of error message while installing any other versions .Net Framework try deleting the specific folder to that version and check if that works.
