10 Reasons Why Windows 8 is a Huge Improvement on Windows 7

Windows 7 was warmly welcomed by just about everyone who uses the Windows platform. Vista was a complete disaster, and that memory still lingers in some users. Windows 7 saved the reputation of Microsoft after the disasterous Vista operating system. Windows 8 is expected to be a radical improvement on the Windows 7 operating system. Here are some of the reasons why this is expected so.

  • Security Improvements. Security has always been a major issue for Windows users. The SmartFile detect system integrated into Explorer is improving our defense against malware and websites by creating a network of information sharing. This system will be integrated into the features of the system. This will be a further increase in security.
  • Ease of Use. Windows 7 is already known for being a very easy system to use. Windows 8 promises to be an even faster and smoother operating system.
  • App Store. An application store means that finding new software is easy, and you can be sure that software is safe. An application store is long overdue.
  • Push Button Reset. There is nothing worse than the dreaded blue screen. It means a crash in our system and data loss. This will never be a problem again. With push button reset, we will be able to restore our Windows 8 system to the original factory settings without losing our data or settings.
  • Power Consumption. The way the Windows is designing Windows 8, means it will use much less power. There are obvious reasons why this is a huge improvement.
  • Multi-device. The new Windows 8 operating system will be the same for Windows phones, tablets, laptops and desktops.
  • System Backup. Apple has a feature known as Timemachine. This allows a user to take snap shot of their system and data at any time. Windows 8 will have a similar feature.
  • Encryption. The ability to store everything on our machine while encrypting it makes it much safer. If you lose your phone, tablet or laptop, no one will be able to retrieve the data.
  • Facial Recognition. The new Windows 8 will have a feature that uses our face to logon to our system account and essentially start up our machine. This is much more powerful than a password.
  • Web Based Functionality. Because HTML5 and JavaScript based applications can work on the system like an ordinary application, we will have more processing power when using web based applications, and therefore, there will be more applications available.

The list of new features in the Windows 8 upgrade continues to impress and surprise consumers and developers alike. Microsoft might finally get back their title as the best operating system yet.

There Are 3 Responses So Far. »

  1. It’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft can really pull off a ubiquitous experience across tablets/phones/computers. There are so many differences in computer power and interfaces, I’m not sure they’ll be able to do more than a so-so effort.

  2. We’ll have to wait one more year to find out if windows 8 is really worth it, because I have some doubts. Hope that it won’t be a complete failure like Vista was.

  3. I was impressed by startup time. Windows 8 is much more faster, To me it seems to be about 200%. Also entire OS is running faster than Win 7.
